Yes, far too much experience :-)
Mine was a glossary--I made a property list, with several hundred words
made into symbols as the property, and the definition as the value. I think
I used something like gloss.addProp(#Authorware, "An obsolescent authoring
package"). As I displayed text, I scanned it for glossary words and
converted them to hyperlinks on the fly.
Occasionally, one would just stop working, for no reason I could fathom.
The only solution I could find was to go into the property list declaration
(I believe it was in a prepareMovie handler), delete it, and paste it back
in (I kept a copy of the glossary declaration in a text file for just that
purpose).
For the record, I believe that was in D7. I haven't done such extensive
hyperlinking in D8, so I don't know if it's still as cantankerous.
