Director doesn't support Actionscript - but the Flash Asset xtra
does. For example, if you load some of the Flash demos into Director
(as .swf) such as the calculator demo, it functions as it should.
This is true of all versions of the Flash xtra, which essentially
encapsulates the Flash player code.
Director doesn't yet support the Flash 5 format (as of Director 8)
but no doubt there will be a version of Director out at some point
which will support it. For the time being, if you want to use Flash
in Director AN want to use Flash 5 to do your Flash development, only
use those Actionscript features which were supported by Flash 4 and
export the swf in Flash 4 format.
