Hello List,

Save your illustrator file as an eps. Open up photoshop. Then open your file,
photoshop will then ask you if you want to Rasterize Generic EPS format - I find
it works best if you set the resolution to 200dpi. Your file will then open up
and appear to have a transparent background, however to make your file nice and
tiny to import into Director, go FILE, SAVE FOR WEB and save you file as a
Portable Network Graphic (PNG). You can choose to have transparency set on or
off as desired. And click OK. Once you have done this for your graphics, you
can then go into explorer for example and you will see your new files are in
Macromedia Fireworks format. Having Macromedia format files to place into
Macromedia software is helpful.
But the only bizarre thing about having PNG files is that when you go to import
your files into Director, you do not actually get PNG as a file type option on
the"pull down" file type menu. Saying that it works absolutely fine and you
just need to select all file types to see your PNG graphics. Hope this helps
someone out there. Does anyone know why you can't select a PNG file type from
the menu in Director ? By using this method no plug-ins are required, quite
amazing.

Yours from Cyberspace,
Lisa.
