I don't remember - I'm fairly certain it's in the docs as it is for 
DirectMedia Xtra. Just guessing, I suspect that the Xtra has the focus & 
Director sits still waiting. I really don't know, though as I always set 
Animate in Background on my projects. That and I haven't used that 
particular Xtra since the Win3.1 days (since it was an XObject?).
