Maybe there is a tech note on this - though I don't know of one.
Here is my understanding of the download order:
1. score data -- all the internal data Director maintains about what's where
2. scripts and fonts
3. cast members in score order (their order in the score)
4. the rest of the cast members in order
I'm not entirely sure about #2- for example, parent scripts
One trick to force a particular order is to put cast members in the
score but off-screen, and/or, put them in the first few frames of the
movie but jump to a start frame later in the movie in the
"startMovie" handler.
Anyone have any corrections/additions?
