Director 8 Demystified is the official guide to Director 8. It has an in
depth Lingo lexicon (including a few terms which are undocumented in the
lingo dictionary that comes with Director) as well as detailed information
regarding every aspect of creating projectors, shockwave movies, and all of
Lingo's functionality. It can be used to learn Director (as a tutorial) or
just as a reference book. It's excellent as both. It also comes with a CD
that has demo code and lots of extras (sounds, etc.).

I don't think there is an E-book available, but I'm sure you can buy a hard
copy online at amazon.com. (They probably don't have the books that came
with the software, but I recommend "Director 8 Demystified" by Phil Gross
and Jason Roberts, it has a thorough main Director section as well as a nice
Lingo dictionary that has some terms which are not documented in the
official Lingo Dictionary.)
