Another alternative is to use Net Lingo in combination with ASP and XML to
access your database. On a project I'm currently working on, we needed the
ability to access the same database from both a web based application and a
Director based application. We ended up using PostNetText to send queries
to an ASP page which queries the database. We then package the results of
the query by building an XML document on the web server and sending it
Director. The XML parser then reads it. Works great.
