Actually it is quite straitforward, even if the links look absolute, they
are also relative, by default. Take an example : you have your cd elements
all in a folder called "MyCd" on whatever drive, let's say C:
In this folder you have a hierachical order of files, let's say your project
at the root of the folder, then a subfolder called "media" with all your
videos and pics and sounds, and another folder called "movies" with other
movies that are being called by the main projector, for example.
Now even if when you are working from inside director, and he calls one
video through the absolute path C:MyCd:Media:Video:Myclip, when you are
toasting your cd rom, you shoudln"t care about the first part of the path,
just make sure that the path remains the same between the root folder (MyCd)
and the rest of the files. That way you can move your folder "MyCd" around
on as many computers and drives as you want, without losing your references.
