You don't really need to run the video via RTSP off a streaming server.
In fact, your clips might run better, depending on the user's
connection, via HTTP as "Fast Start" clips. Then, movieTime will work
well, and the video should come in just about as fast (or faster) than
it would via RTSP. The only thing in your way is that a 40 minute clip
will buffer for a long time before autostarting unless you tack on a
brief bit of "leader" in the form of a Flash movie (black, clear, or
whatever) and mechanically start the clip after a bit of this has loaded
by using a 'sprite(?).movieRate = 1' type script. Another way to do it
is to display the QuickTime controller (or make your own), and let the
user start the clip manually with that.

If you need to "protect" the video, then there are ways to do this too
without using RTSP.
