Dimple..

I've done a bit of work with QTVR...here are some basics:

First, at a minimum, you'll need a tripod and special tripod head for your
camera.
Kaidan sells relatively inexpensive heads designed for creating photos to be
used
to create QTVR scenes. As for the camera, your 35mm will probably work fine
with
one of the Kaidan heads. However, I find it much easier to work with a
digital camera
for this kind of work. You might take a look at Sony's Mavica line of
digital camera's.
These have worked well for me.

For an object scene, whatever you're photographing needs to be placed on a
turntable.
QTVR shots you've seen of car objects have actually been created through the
use of
a giant turntable. This is probably not an option for you. In instances like
this I usually
go with 3D modeling. I create a realistic 3D modeling of the object, animate
the object and
output the object as sequenced bitmaps. I use those bitmaps to create my
QTVR object...
a quick and much less expensive option.

There are a number of software titles for QTVR authoring. I use VR Worx from
VR Toolbox -
works just fine for me. Apple also sells a QTVR authoring "studio" which
runs only on the MAC.

Hope that helps,

Josie

Hi! Marco.....I have no solution for you but i have a question instead.

Since you seem to be in QTVR, could you please tell me what software to use.
I would also like to know what's the trick in taking the photographs? For
ex, I want to to make an object VR for a car, how do i take the pictures of
the car as i only have a 35mm camera. Do i need to buy special equipment for
this? How do I manage the 10 degree shots around a car without putting the
car on some sort of a turntable! I'm stumped! Do tell me how you went about
it for your project in as much detail as you have time.

Thanx & regds
