I'm not sure what you mean by background, but I'll try anyway.

What is member("intro")? If it's your background graphic then just remove 
that line. If it's a text member try printing the text of the member 
instead of the member itself (it will print cleaner than a text member, 
too). If it's a field member, it should work fine.

I don't know if this is available in the Lite version, but the full version 
has:

setColor (doc, 0,0,0)
