As long as you are working on only PC, you can use the ActiveX for a browser
window and control it totally with lingo. Just Insert : ActiveX : Microsoft
Web Browser. All the information you need will be there.

Subject: <lingo-l> Kiosk Map
Greetings. I am completely revamping a kiosk at our local airport. The
client has requested a map/database that will display/print directions from
the airport to almost anywhere in the city.
First thought, utilize MapQuest since it is already established (why
re-invent the wheel). Problem there is that the kiosk will be full screen.
To utilize MapQuest, you have to be online. Don't want to fight the browser
window and Director...not to mention getting a dedicated line to the kiosk
inside the airport is a little tricky.
Also (sticking with the MapQuest thought), how do you go about opening a
buttonless browser with director? Basically don't want people to be able to
browse the internet -- that would take away from the kiosk being there.
Second thought, Pray for a miracle! Just Kidding...create my own database
with directions to many places/areas in the city. This seems optimal. To
create a database that will give directions to any address in the city is a
little extreme, especially since the budget for this thing isn't THAT big.
Any ideas or suggestions I'm very open too.
Thanks in advance.
BTW, Director 7, PC - to work on a stand alone Touch-Screen Kiosk.
