I'm not familiar with mapQuest, so I won't comment that one.

I was just wondering:
If you opt for the 'home-made' printable map solution, why use QTVR?
QTVR is mostly used for a quasi-3D environment. Since a map is flat, you
just need to move a 2D bitmap or vector image around. There's a good
tutorial on that at DOUG, if you search for 'scrolling bitmap' or
something like that. Hotspots, then, could either be shapes with a
lineSize of 0, which you place relative to the upper left corner of your
bitmap,and reset every time the user finishes scrolling, or they could
be areas defined with Lingo.
