Page 385 of Director in a Nutshell covers it briefly. Director supports basic tabs 
like <b> and <i>. It also suppors simple tables, but it doesn't support <Frame>, 
<Image>, <Embed>, <Form>, <Applet>, <Input>, etc.

IOW, it supports the tags that enable rich text (like fonts, color, point size and 
alignment, but nothing approaching a real web browser. There are other solutions, such 
as Tabuleiro's WebXtra if you need a real browser within Director.

(FWIW, ActionScript: The Definitive Guide has extensive details on what Flash supports 
in the way of HTML tags within text fields.)
