I love using XML for transferring ASCII data. It's easy to build, transport
and parse.

when sending data to a text file via a cgi script, what delimiter do you
guys use between data? Or do you send a list as a variable and then read it
straight back in? I'm using cgi scripts for hiScores etc but can't seem to
settle on a standard method or delimiter that I can be sure will work cross
platform etc.
