If I remember correctly, you could transport any media that Director
supported over the network with MUS 2.1 too. You dont need MUS 3 for that.

However, you can't write an external file from the server application
itself. Atleast not with version 2.1

What you can do is set up a host movie on the server which accepts peer to
peer connections, post your image to that and then have the host save it to
the servers harddisk.

Does MUS 3 allow you to write a file directly from its own shell? Or do you
still need to have a host movie to do that.

Check out the new version of MUS 3 that ships with Dir 8.5 - according to
the docs, you can send it the image of a member, and write an image file
(such as a jpeg) to the server. I haven't tried it yet myself, but that
functionality certainly caught my eye.
