I've checked the 'Creating Ripples with Imaging Lingo' in 
Director-Online.com and it's not exactly how i wanted it. Coz i need to 
distort the text to resemble a 'wave' effect. I think i will probably need 
the Xtra :)

Go with DMTools Wave effect. I have used it and it works well.
