You can also use BuddyAPI to send email without the browser window opening.
Try this:
baOpenURL("mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]";, "maximized")
If you don't own buddyAPI thats OK because you can use _ANY_ 2 functions
for free.
You can get Buddy from www.mods.com.au/budapi
