I know people find this list productive, and like to ask non-Lingo or
non-programming questions of the list, because they hope to get a highly
qualified answer. Unfortunately we've been getting a LOT of non-Lingo and
non-programming questions lately. I just want to keep the signal-to-noise
ratio high. Other lists, like Direct-L, already exist for
non-Lingo/non-programming questions. Otherwise we defeat the purpose of
Lingo-L.

If anyone would like to also subscribe to an advanced-general-topic
Director listserv, let me know, and I can see about setting one up, but for
now let's just try to keep focused on Lingo and programming topics. There
are a lot of people on this list (I won't say how many :) and if we don't
keep it focused it'll get out of hand.

For people with questions on general Director issues (how to import Flash,
how to digitize a video clip, what palette to use, etc.) look at
comp.multimedia,
news://news.macromedia.com/macromedia.director.general (or whatever the
url is), or Direct-L at [EMAIL PROTECTED] For users of Xtras,
try xtras-l at www.trevimedia.com. For developers of Xtras, try
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (subscribe via [EMAIL PROTECTED]). And for a
list dedicated to Lingo and programming, try here (Lingo-L)!

Thanks
