AFAIK postnettext was introduced in director 7. However, who should 
be able to use getnettext in director 6. You will just need to encode 
the URL maually.

There's an article at DOUG by Andrew White that demonstates this 
technique. (Pre MU server shockwave chat with FMP and getnettext)
