How many users are going to use the product on both machines and care that there
are two different pixel sizes?

If it's a problem of "We want the PC Dissolve Bits to be smaller" then you can
respond "this is as small as they get".

But unless you are running both platforms together at the same time, side by
side, who cares that they are different? (this isn't to say that it isn't
annoying that the two platforms give different results, but only ask how
"mission-critical" this is.)

(aside)
Sort of like worrying more about IE/Netscape/PC/MAC HTML pages all looking
consistent as opposed to them all being presentable and looking good. I've seen
designers spend a lot of time worrying about the CONSISTENT bug-a-boo while the
design is still changing significantly, but eventually be to everyone's
satisfaction. THEN I try to look at the page with a larger font set as default,
and suddenly all those neat little boxes of words are illegible. *shrug*
