I don't think there is a direct substitute.  

You have to use something like 


if (some condition){
do something
}else if (some condition){
do something
} else if (some condition)
do something
{ else {
default action
}

Somewhere - director onlne - I think, someone has started a document that maps
actionscript to lingo.  I don't remember the url though.
