This is a known issue with D 7 and D8. I don't know if it's been fixed in
8.5, but it is not on MM's list of fixed bugs. The issue is that when
hyperlinks are created "on the fly" by assigning the html property of a
member, they "sometimes" don't work UNLESS there was at least one hyperlink
in that member previously. The solutions are, (1) either make sure that
there is at least one hyperlink in the member at all times, or (2) write a
simple hanlder that will duplicate the hyperlink action. The latter is
actually very easy to do, and takes just a couple of lines of Lingo. You
know where your hyperlinks start and end (look up the hyperlink properties
in the docs), and you can easily determine where in the text the mouse
click has occurred. So you can react to it exactly the way a hyperlink would.
