I am trying to create a Navigator type tool as in Photoshop. There is a
small flat map in Director with a small square that represents the visible
area of a zoomable Flash map that sits next to it. As you move or zoom the
Flash map the indicator on the map moves to represent the visible section of
the Flash map.
I've figured out how to drag the "red square" around on a flat map in
Director and have it move the flash map around. I've even got it so that
when you release the "red square" the flash map updates its origin point so
that it zooms correctly.
But I'm kinda stuck on the math that changes the size of the "red square" as
I zoom the Flash map. I'm wondering if anyone has written a behavior for
such a tool. I've given it my best shot and have gotten pretty far, hack
that I am. It works perfectly as long as you don't zoom...but I know folks
will want to zoom.
So, does anyone have an idea how to do a Photoshop-style navigator that
zooms?
TIA,
Stephen
