put a call to update stage inside the innermost repeat loop.
like this

set the LocH of sprite sprNum = ( the LocH of sprite sprNum) -1
updateStage --THIS IS THE NEW CODE TO FORCE A UPDATE OF THE STAGE EVERY
TURN
