It is extremely important, and the whole world is talking, don't go
thinking list members are unaware. I think everyone on the whole list is
shocked, no matter what country, and I'm sure there are those on the list
who were personally touched through friends or family in the tragedy, plus
we have many list members in New York. However, since this tragedy has
very much affected literally the whole world, there are many many forums
dedicated to it. I would suggest we have a moment of silence on the list
for all those affected, but that we keep the messages to the normal
business at hand. The whole world is aware, so if you want to engage in
conversations on it, there are many places to go - let's keep this one for
Lingo and programming.

The list has always been about respect, learning, and helping. Good
lessons for the world right now.

Something like this can put everything in perspective. If you want to make
a statement, I'd suggest turning off your computer, and taking tomorrow for
reflection and prayer or meditation and remembrance and spend it with your
families.

Perhaps the best comment we can make is quiet respect.
