If you are using Director 7.0 or above, thank Macromedia for this one.
This was one of my biggest peeves when moving from 6.0 up to 7.0 -
palette switches/transitions cause nasty, ugly flashes. They shouldn't.
It's a bug, well known and well ignored. I talked to Macromedia tech
support about this (1.5 years ago?) and they acknowledged and reproduced
the problem, but said it wouldn't be fixed.
