In D6.5 the QT3 xtra followed some other linking scheme than usual
for Director. This caused a lot of grief for a lot of people, and it
was probably just a result of haste in getting the QT3 xtra out the
door too soon.
Before and after that, QT assets follow the same linking rules as
other standard assets.
This works by storing absolute paths and then trying to synthezise
the relative paths, using relative paths first and only as a last
fallback using the stored absolute paths directly.
I have written about this numerous times on various lists.
