Even if you could change permissions, which I don't think you can, (not in
G6, neither in serv-U anyway - except for changing the account password)
because this would be like really unsafe - and once you've set to readonly,
you're stuck - not??
Maybe you can script apache to allow this-but then again-allowing this is
opening your front door to taggers, exploits etc...
I'm conviced it's better to let your users acces a web server and use some
server-side scripting to list the contents of your dir.
You should look for a more satisfying answer in the docs of your FTPserver -
everything depends its possibilities/limitations - the only thing I can
assure you of, is that our mr. network admin would never allow this - but if
you're your own, do as you please.
I'll mail him if he knows a way of doing this - I'll get back to you.
