Well you have to write the code by yourself, but here are some hints:

You can record the user data in "property lists".
After the user has entered his name, you have to look that name up in the
list and if he is new, you add a new item to the property list.
You can convert the property list to text and save that text on disk using
the file i/o extra. If you restart the application you will have to read the
file and reconvert the text to the property list.

Cheers
Michael

Betreff: <lingo-l> student sign-in

Hi, list

Can you advise how to do the scripting for a student sign in
dialogue box?

In this sign in screen, first time users have to type in their names so that
all the marks that they have accumulated in previous sessions in the use
of the program will be recorded under their names. So, if the same user
started the program again, he could then continue with the marks he has
accumulated. If it was a new user, the record will be at zero.

How is the code to be written?

Thanks,

Genevieve
