IMO, the most elegant way would be to create a parent Script (which would
easily allow you to create multiple groups) and then assign new Sprites to
the "realm" of that child object....

creating a new group:
SpGroup_1 = new(script "spriteGrouper")

adding sprites to group:
SpGroup_1.AddSprite(MySpriteNum)

removing sprites:
SpGroup_1.removeSprite(WhatSprite)

operating the group:
SpGroup_1.ScaleSprites(WhatScaleValue)
SpGroup_1.SetSpriteBlend(WhatBlendValue)
SpGroup_1.SetVisible(Visibility)

etc.
