Exactly, that's what I'm worried about.

Let me get this entirely straight: the only way to have linked media is
that the full structure of said media directories has to be mirrored in a
dswmedia folder.

Forget about preloadnetthing, forget about anything. Linking to an jpg
that exists next to or relative to the shockwave can ONLY happen in a
browser from a webserver, correct? If one is trying to do this with local
files of ANY kind, they have to be mirrored in the dswmedia folder. The
only way to link to relative files on a user's harddrive is OUTSIDE of the
browser, ie Director standalone.

I'm spelling this out because this was EXACTLY what I pointed out the
company I was subcontracted to 2 months ago, and I was hushed that this
wasn't the case.

Once again, there is NO way to link to media external to a shockwave
playing in a browser on a local drive that does not exist in some mirrored
fashion in the dswMedia folder, correct?
