Hi,

I have 2 qt files, 1 with a video track, 1 with an audio track (with
cuepoints).

The video and audio tracks kick off together, but the video finishes long
before the audio as I want to sync some other sprite-based imagery with the
audio (based on the cues).

There's a script listening for mostRecentCuepoint in the audio that alters
the sprite on stage.

This works fine on Mac and fine on most PCs.

However, on some PCs the cuepoint event is not being listened to. This must
have something to do with the format of the audio as I've tried an audio
only qt .mov and .aif.

I have also tried opening these suspect files in QuickTime PC (5.0.1 I
think) and on the suspect PCs I get a message saying 'Quicktime could not
recognise this file' - strange as it is only a qt audio track.

However, the .aif files open up ok in QuickTime and I can see the cuepoints
in the qt interface. Changing the externally attached qt audio .mov member
to a plain old .aif member results in everything working fine on a few more
of these PCs where previously they didn't.

Still... some incompatabilities exist with remaining PCs.

Has anyone experienced this type of problem? I thought it might have been
the compression settings (previously IMA and uLaw) but even an uncompressed
audio files displays the same inconsistencies between various PCs.

I have also re-installed QT. My next thoughts are, 'would reverting to an
older v of quicktime help?'

Regards,

Ian
