Another key difference with PrepareFrame is that it happens when you do an updatestage in your Lingo. ExitFrame doesn't happen at that time. You have to be careful, because you can end up appearing to get very high frame rates if you move things on prepareframe, and then do lots of updatestages in a repeat loop.
