downloadNetThing complications

Hi all - I'm kinda of new to the list - is there an easy place to search old archives of the threads? I would have done that had I found it on penworks site (admittedly, I didn't have a ton of time to search very hard for it).
So anyway, all apologies if this question has been asked recently...

Has anyone had any troubles w/ downloadNetThing( ) in combination w/ corporate firewalls, proxy servers, any other environ. issues stemming from the client application being in a corporation type network?

Bg info: This question stems from a problem doing an update for an enhanced cd. D8.5 Projector, setting gNetID = downloadNetThing(serverPath,clientPath) I'm catching an error w/ an if statement on netError(gNetID) = 4146.
