Although you say you are converting from Flash 5, you are using an older
Flash 4-style syntax before arrays were available in Flash. The solution is
to use an array. Instead of it1 to it7, you should use an array called "it".

Then the elements will be it[1] to it[7].

Be careful because Flash 5 users 0-relative indices for arrays, whereas
Director uses 1-relative indices.

If none of this makes sense, you need to learn about arrays (they're called
"lists" in Director). I'm too lazy to give a tutorial on them here and now.
