hi there lingo gurus. i'm in need of some assistance, and had no time to go through all the digests to try to find if the subject has already been treated, so if i'm asking something that has been answered lately, could you please put me on the tracks. If not, then here's the case :
i'm working on a text translator that allows the user to type some text, select a word or a group of words in a text field, and with a press of a button add the link tags in html for the selected text (to be exported elsewhere). the director end is used only to allow to make selections and to add these tags, and then to show the text with the link part in blue, but without the tags. so, i'm using two field, the first for typing and for selecting, and the second is hidden and contains all the text with tags. after validation of link, the first field reads the second, detects the words with tags, deletes the tags and puts the words in question in blue. now, how to do this, with the detection of all the tags in the second field, the text associated to these tags, and the interpretation of the whole...? not sure i'm being clear, if so please ask. thanks in advance for those who wish to help me. sebastian.
