Yes, there's a tech note to that effect. It's not clear, though, if it
means that its effects are persistent.

It's clear that each Flash sprite launches an instance of the Flash
Asset Xtra, and each instance takes up RAM. It's been that way for a
while.

What's not clear is if all the RAM is reclaimed when the Flash movie is
unloaded. It should get unloaded by Director automatically when RAM gets
low, so the question isn't really to unload or not. The real question
is, what happens when you do unload, manually or automatically.
