Hello All, I'm troubleshooting a project with a new copy of Netscape 6.2 on a Mac and discovered that baOpenURL with a local file will not work. The problem appears to be related to url encoding and Netscape not being open.
Netscape begins to open then quits. Works fine with internet explorer. If netscape 6 is running however, it will accept the unencoded path and display the local html in a new window. A new window is opened even if the same file is already open in another window. (A little odd for mac users.) I don't have an older version of netscape to try. Could anybody confirm this? baOpenURL "file:///Macintosh HD/help.htm", "normal" If I replace the space in the above path with %20, netscape will successfully launch. At any rate, looks like I'll need to whip up some url encoding lingo. Before I reinvent the wheel, anyone know where I might find some? (I already tried the lingo 'URLEncode'. Doesn't work for local paths.)
