Hi Alex,

I know that the Lingo 'open' command does not like spaces. Maybe try removing the
spaces in the file name for the Mac QT installer.

If that is not the fix, then does the same problem occur if you take out the Buddy API
part?
Are you including the Mac version of the needed Xtras?
Does the freeze occur on all Macs?

Try putting some alerts or breakpoints in your script so you can see exactly where the
crash is occurring.

Subject: <lingo-l> Urgent help needed---quicktimeversion()

Hi everyone,
I need some urgent help.....
I have a mac projector which crashes every mac I try to use it on.
I know that the problem must be when it initialises..... I have a script
cast which says:

on startMovie
  global qtversion
  set qtversion = quickTimeVersion().integer
  if qtversion < 5 then
    set Answer = baMsgBox( "The necessary version of QuickTime is not
installed on your system. Please re-insert this CD after installing", "Qd
Multimedia - Has detected a problem with your system" , "OK", "Stop" , 1 )
    if Answer = "OK" then
      open the moviePath&"QuickTime Installer" then
      quit
    end if
  end if
end

The script runs fine on a pc but seems to freeze macs???????
Can anyone help me???!!!!
Does anyone know anything which does this to macs at startup?????
