All those that have been having pps opening problems:

If your sole intention is to autorun the powerpoint file, then you can use
this utility without even going to a director stub:

http://www.mrichter.com/cdr/files/files.htm

Just use shellout (freeware) followed by an html index file to launch the
pps or the pps file with default viewer
