ABC Radio National gives one hour every Sunday to Scott Stevens and Waleed Aly,
both Journalists & Public Intellectuals, during which they think through "the
ethical dilammas of modern life" with great good humour.

I thoroughly recommend "The Minefield". I've had more major insights listening
to Scott & Waleed than I ever had by listening to Father Heffernan every Sunday
morning as a boy....

Today's discussion was on Facebook.

I won't attempt to comment, but The Minefield website is available at
https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/theminefield/ and I'd like to
hear Linker's comments. (Though I suspect their guest speaker today may not
have been a good choice.)

Facebook and the news: should the divorce be permanent?
Airs Thursday 2pm. Repeated: Saturday 12.00am, Sunday 10am.

The measures Facebook has taken over the past week have precipitated a
long-overdue reckoning. Now that the “social network” has lifted the veil on
its ambitions and civic disdain, how can news media companies continue, in good
conscience, with their Faustian pact?
