The email does, but the degree-name? Agreed: Not much. I guess it means that 'knowledge management' and 'business intelligence' have had their day and been put out to pasture, and new buzzphrases are needed to make it seem as if there's something new out there. Aside: Does it make sense for a Federation Uni to buy something, rather than forge an association with it? Oh, silly me, it's just a name. Did they buy Churchill campus as well? I'm a (now well-justified) sceptic about university amalgamations. But I feel less jaundiced about the likes of CSU in NSW, and Federation in Vic, to the extent that their H.O. is regional, and they have a much better chance of recognising that each region has and wants to have its own flavour, and hence they may be a bit more tolerant of difference and less imposing of 'city knows best' uniformity. ______________________ > On 9/09/2021 9:44 am, Jan Whitaker via Privacy wrote: >> >> On 9/09/2021 9:27 am, Roger Clarke via Privacy wrote: >>> Robodebt was technology ‘beta testing’ on most vulnerable citizens >>> Joseph Brookes >>> Innovation Aus >>> 8 September 2021 >>> https://www.innovationaus.com/robodebt-was-technology-beta-testing-on-most-vulnerable-citizens/ >>> >> >> Spotted in our local paper announcing new degrees from Federation >> University (which I think used to be University of Ballarat? but now >> has branches around the place, having bought out the Monash Berwick >> campus): >> >> Talk about a gobbledygook name! >> >> Jan >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Privacy mailing list >> [email protected] >> http://lists.efa.org.au/mailman/listinfo/privacy_lists.efa.org.au > _______________________________________________ > Link mailing list > [email protected] > https://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link -- Roger Clarke mailto:[email protected] T: +61 2 6288 6916 http://www.xamax.com.au http://www.rogerclarke.com Xamax Consultancy Pty Ltd 78 Sidaway St, Chapman ACT 2611 AUSTRALIA Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Law University of N.S.W.
