But what are the criteria, who sets them and is it in the interests of the provider of the forum to do this?
Social media companies make money selling advertising. So having "good" content is not a priority. What social media companies found worked was to show you stuff which your friends liked. But what most people like is sensational gossip, not carefully researched factual information.
How about a system where the posts go to a few people, and depending on their reaction, it goes to more people.
Or perhaps messages could come with built in "fact checking" using the reader's preferred source of truth, such as the Wikipedia, the People's Daily newspaper, or News Corp. ;-)
