One of the highlights of being a councillor is all the fabulous people
you cross in your electorate - the late Nuala Ward and her extended
family are an example.
Around the world, Nokia is vocal advocate for women in STEM with
programs to encourage diversity and improve gender equality in the
technology industry. Here in Australia we’re proud to support this
commitment, and recognise the legacy of Nuala Ward, with the
establishment of the Nokia Nuala Ward prize. This prize acknowledges
the contribution of outstanding female STEM students who bring the
Nokia values of being Open, Fearless and Empowered to their academic
life...
The UTS Nokia Nuala Ward Award recognizes this focus on female
inclusion and honours the memory of Nuala Ward, a celebrated business
and technology leader and long term Nokia employee.
