Maybe each microcredential can best be termed: just-in-time learning? That is, already skilled persons, simply wanting specific skill-area updates. This specific-skill-update scenario seems to suit many developing IT skill-needs. But, no-one could surely believe that a hundred microcredentials equals a degree.
