All telecommunications carriers are by default 'critical infrastructure'
under the relevant acts. The only difference here is that the risk
management legislation is already active for other sectors already. Telco
wasn't 'turned on' as there are already ample provisions under the TSSR
act, and frankly a sophisticated system of risk management in place as
well. By all means question Optus' application of their risk management
policies, but there are plenty in place.
