I just re-registered mine and it took effect immediately, expiring in 2019, but maybe even longer according to this article. Out of curiosity, I went to the FAQ governing this process. It's a lot of work to take your number off. You can easily add it, but to remove your number, you have to either call them or fill out a form and send it in. ??? And to correct a number, you have to remove it first, then reregister it. Talk about clunky. What I really wanted to know is if SMSs are covered because I got one of those unsolicited creepy ones about a lottery or something last week. It appears not, since the language is about call and faxes specifically.
