Indeed - the issue is what to do with the edge-cases that fall outside 'most' and 'within reason' - particularly when its an emotive thing like personal alarms, the elderly and frail, or security. And that almost always boils down to "who pays". On the one hand "Technology moves on, your gear is obsolete and is only working by historical accident - talk to your alarm supplier about changing to a new system that will work".
