Interesting article by David Braue
at:http://www.theage.com.au/it-pro/government-it/confidential-briefing-nbn-unlikely-to-meet-coalitions-deadline-20131128-hv3tp.html

Apparently the NBN Co's own internal analysis is pouring a bit of cold water on
the FTTN model.

Factor in what the Telstra techie's, contractors and their union have been
saying about the state of the Telstra copper (despite what Telstra management
have said), and the case for FTTN looks even weaker.

None of this is gonna stop Malcolm from pushing the party line however ... I
mean, neither laws of physics, natural entropy and the copper line, the
shrinking returns on investment, the shrinking resale vale of the NBN when they
want to privatise the puppy, techie and knowledgeable party resistance, or any
other fact, is gonna shake the Liberal party line. The Nationals however may be
getting a tad worried about the lack of benefits and network performance that
will accrue to their constituency, and 85-90% of the prospective clientele seem
to know that they are being sold a turkey if the polls are correct, and the
market is already discounting the value of the NBN by far more than its cost -
especially given the diminished prospective earning figures.

I can hardly wait until these leaked documents are finally released into the
public domain in the LNP's sanitised and PR vetted version for public
consumption.

Just my 2 cents worth ...
